Kailahun District

Kailahun lies in the east of Sierra Leone. It borders Liberia to the east, Kenema to the west and Kono to the north. It occupies a total space of 3,939.5 Km2 and comprises of fourteen chiefdoms. The district headquarters is Kailahun town. The main ethnic groups are Kissi and Mende.

Main economic activities include small scale mining, production of coffee, cacao and rice. The district is predominantly Muslim.
